A relaxing day off at home.

Last night I ordered online for groceries to be delivered to my home – I didn’t need much but I thought it would be best to ensure that I’ve got ample food at home to avoid the temptation to order take aways. That was then delivered in the morning however I realised I forgot a few items but nothing major so in the evening I took the bus down the road to pick up the missing items from Woolworths. I’m unsure whether mum is coming over for dinner on Tuesday so I’ll play it by ear and see what the outcome is. Oh, and I woke up at 9:30 am after having a late evening – although I wanted to sleep in I also wanted to stick to my plan.

I’m still working on the blog post ‘The myths we tell ourselves.’ however I wanted to get a few more topics posted before focusing on getting that sorted out. Unfortunately I have a habit of starting something then suddenly have a rush of inspiration to do something else which ends up looking like the circus trick of plate spinning. I’ve been tracking my delivery from the United States and according to NZ Post the parcel is currently sitting at their sorting centre in Wiri and hopefully it’ll mean it is on the way down to Wellington on an overnight truck or at least I hope it is.

Daily writing prompt
If you could erase one event from history, what would it be?

Stopping the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand but I’m unsure whether that would have stopped the series of events that lead to World War I which then laid the foundations for the horrors of World War II and the rise of fascism. If there was a second historical event to erase from history then it would be the assassination of Tsar Alexander II of Russia which makes me wonder what could have happened if there were parliamentary elections and Russia moved to a constitutional monarchy like Great Britain. When it comes to choosing a historical event I really want to choose something that set in motion a whole lot of other events so then the stopping of that one event will stop a whole lot more events occuring as well.
