I woke up this morning at 9:30 am but I decided to have a quiet day and enjoy my morning by relaxing around the home. I checked for an update for Chrome because for some unknown reason they’re pushing out two updates per week these days and they released an update which updated it from version 151.0.7922.170 to 151.0.7922.174 which provide 7 security updates (link) so that this week there have been 22 security bug fixed which rage from high to critical – quite a few nasty critical bugs so I’d suggest you update asap.
As much as annoying people like Sam Altman are suggesting you could use AI to create a podcast of what your kids are doing in their life instead of actually talking to your kids, there is actually some use cases where AI can be beneficial – finding security bugs before anyone else can should hopefully result in more secure code and few zero day bugs as businesses can be more proactive when it comes to finding those bugs and fixing them.
Ubiquiti has released UniFi Network Application 10.6.97 to their release candidate channel – it is filled with many changes so it’ll be interesting to see what the feedback is and whether it’ll be released next week along side maybe the release of UniFi OS 5.1.31 that I mentioned yesterday. On the issue of networking, I’m still having a look at what is on offer, I am looking at maybe Quic because I’ve heard lots of rave reviews and the price is pretty reasonable along with the fact that it doesn’t use CGNAT along with support for IPv6 and a few more advanced features if I want to take advantage of them.
I like the fact that when working within a business in New Zealand there isn’t the rigid hierarchy – you call your boss by their first name, most of the time you can meet the business owner because they tend to be working in the office and is visible in the office. This is similar to the culture that exists in Australia that jack is as good as his master – I couldn’t imagine calling a team leader or a manager sir or mister so and so because it be creating an unnecessary hierarchy that is antithetical to the culture in New Zealand.
