I’m feeling a whole lot better having a couple of days to rest and recuperate. The weather has been pretty lousy for the last couple of days, lots of wind and rain but hopefully it is the last bit of a nasty weather before spring comes around. I finished cleaning up around the house and get things into order so then I am ready for tomorrow. I’ve played my Connections and Wordle with much success – the more do it the better I am at seeing patterns and learning to ignore what appears to he connections but aren’t what the puzzle makers had intended.
Chrome 141 is going well so far and Edge will probably receive an update either tomorrow or the next day but then again if there isn’t a serious update it may get rolled into patch Tuesday next week. There was an ‘Microsoft Corporation – System Hardware Update – 9/22/2025’ update installed a day or two ago, I’m unsure what it does but I assume it is related to maybe drivers because when I did reboot I didn’t see any sort of firmware update on reboot so maybe it was updating the recovery drive or something. The Windows Insider is getting some recent updates particularly around dark mode and user interface consistency (link) but given the lack of user visible changes in the canary build i wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t start seeing any major user visible changes until maybe next year but given the chaos occuring in the world of macOS, ‘liquid glass’ and Webkit developers still not having fixed the subframe issue (I keep track of) each day I feel more and more vindicated regarding my decision to switch platforms.
There have been an avalanche of updates coming out from Ubiquiti particularly when it comes to the early access channel – UniFi Network Application 9.5.21, UniFi Access Point (all U7 and E7 models) 8.2.14 along with updates for the Cloud Key which is in the release candidate channel. I’m hoping that maybe in the next few weeks the Gateway update will be released along side the other updates. I’m still deciding whether I stick with Skinny or maybe have a look at Quic as it has pretty robust setup and IPv6 support along with a few other features that maybe neat to try out in the future. I also have a 2 Degrees SIM card as well so that option is always open as well so I’ll see what happens – maybe a good special will be announced like a free television or something when signing up for a 12 or 24 month contract.
