A wet and windy Tuesday.

I’ve stuck to my schedule and woke up at 9:30 am today and although I still felt a bit tired I woke up and turned the lights on to so the rest of my body wakes up. I checked the NZ Post tracking and while I was checking for updates on my laptop it turned out that it was delivered. I unwrapped the parcel, checked, that everything I ordered was delivered and then put them into the washing machine to clean them (I have a habit of cleaning new clothes before wearing them).

I’m going to have a lazy day at home and the first thing I did after getting the delivery all sorted out was to check to see whether the update from Apple had been released – and it had (link). It is interesting that Apple had a release candidate before releasing the stable version because in the past when it comes to security fixes they would just release it after testing it internally which makes me wonder whether the fixes made could have caused compatibility issues. I’ve installed the update and everything is working without a hitch – I gave Safari a try and everything appears to be working and Chrome is working great as well which is what I use for my ever day browser.

At the moment the temperature is chilly so I’ve got the heater going – I keep the heater on thermostat at 20 degrees celsius. I have the heater located in the hallway (well, it isn’t much of a hallway) so it is centrally located so the place can be kept easily warm. I’m still deciding whether I should eventually, one day, get one installed because if I was going to have a split system it would involve having the heat pump in the carport as you drive up the drive way but the outlet would be in the hallway which would be around the middle of the house where the heat could be dispersed evenly throughout the home.

I’ve got some ciabatta baguette heating up in the oven and one that is heated up I’ll put some cream cheese and smoked salmon on it. I’m hoping that I have enough cream cheese for it and I’ll use up the two packets of sliced smoked salmon. It is a bit on the pricy side but I rarely go out to restaurants for a meal because I find it more affordable to have a fancy meal at home that I’ve done myself. Funny enough, but cooking more at home it has allowed me to improve my cooking skills which in turn has made cooking a whole lot more enjoyable.
